First Jobs, First Boundaries
Your first real job taught you to say yes to everything. That habit will cost you. Here's how to start protecting yourself.

There's an unspoken rule many young professionals absorb: say yes to everything, prove yourself, pay your dues. And so you answer emails at midnight, take on tasks no one asked for, and quietly drown while looking fine.
The habit starts as strategy — you're new, you want to be valued — but it calcifies into a pattern that burns you out and teaches everyone that your limits don't exist. The earlier you practice boundaries, the easier the rest of your career becomes.
Boundaries at work sound like: 'Let me check my bandwidth and get back to you,' 'I can do this by Friday, not Tuesday,' and 'I'll log off at 6.' These aren't weakness. They're how you stay good at your job for longer than six months.
