Riding the Waves of Big Emotions
Some feelings hit like a wave and pull you under. You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to swim.

Teen years bring feelings that are bigger than anything you've felt before — anger that floods you, sadness that arrives without warning, fear that makes no sense. It can feel like the emotion is you, and that it'll last forever.
It won't. Emotions are waves: they rise, peak, and pass, even when in the middle of them it feels permanent. The trick isn't to stop the wave but to learn to ride it — to feel it without acting on it in ways you'll regret.
Try naming what you feel out loud, taking slow breaths, or moving your body. When emotions get too big to hold alone, tell one safe person. You don't have to ride the waves by yourself.
